The Senior Maintenance Engineer/CraftTeam Facilitator will
Provide the first level of supervision for Mechanics and Electricians crew in accordance with established policies and methods for assigned rotation
Initiate training, planning and assigning duties/daily work, actively assist or provide direction to subordinates as required.
First line of Engineering to assist Craft team during Equipment troubleshooting.
Lead/coordinate Maintenance tasks with manufacturing partners ensuring preventive maintenance is completed on time.
Identify root causes to issues and recommend corrective actions in order to meet customer needs.
Oversee compliance with all regulatory, corporate and local policies, and all federal and state regulated programs.
Understand and adhere to Ethicon environmental and safety policies/guidelines, Johnson & Johnson Pollution Prevention Goals and regulatory requirements.
Work under general supervision with responsibility to make decision to meet operational objectives.
Plan, conduct and direct engineering projects or studies, including complete projects requiring advanced knowledge of a specialized field.
Apply comprehensive and diverse knowledge of engineering principles and practices within broad assignment areas.
Coordinate and direct activities of technical support staff and will be responsible for technical development of assigned staff.
Track and trend data, identify and implement process improvements to improve business measures.
Investigate product inquiries, develop and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise and Platform Ownership on multiple equipment types and technologies, including equipment reliability.
The San Angelo Plant is a 24/7 operation; weekends and holidays areincluded in the work schedule.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is required. A Master's degree preferred.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or engineering is required.
Supervisory Experience is preferred.
Medical Device, Consumer or Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
Experience on Packaging process and equipment is preferred
Experience with troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is preferred.
Experience with troubleshooting vision systems, Robotics and automation preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
Experience with troubleshooting high speed automation assembly equipment is preferred.
Knowledge of FDA, ISO and/or GMP regulatory requirements required.
Knowledge of BSI (European) regulatory requirements preferred.
Experience in Process Excellence/Six Sigma is preferred.
Process Excellence/Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) Certification is preferred.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have strong analytical problem solving skills and professional judgment required to resolve major technical issues.
Must have Leadership competencies to serve as First line leader.
Must have the ability to function in a team based manufacturing environment.
Must be capable of making effective management level presentations, writing formal reports dealing with both technical and business implications, and preparing project plans.
The ability to collaborate with all levels of management in a cross-functional team environment is required.
This position is located in San Angelo, TX and may require up to 10% travel (domestic and international).
