The purpose of the position is to conduct the daily operations of the six day per week daily bread lunch program (DBLP).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Ordering and maintaining an appropriate level of supplies that support the functions of the DBLP, i.
e.
, paper goods, cleaning supplies, shelf-stable and perishable food items to name a few.
This position requires resourcefulness, dependability, and responsibility for there are many volunteers relying on having the supplies and food they need to put together and serve a meal.
A weekly meeting between operations coordinator and executive director (ED) will take place as best suits one another's schedules - this meeting will insure an open line of communication between the operations coordinator and ED.
The operations coordinator will collaborate closely with the volunteer coordinator, Wesley nurse, and DBLP volunteers.
The operations coordinator will attend bi-monthly meetings of the DBLP Board of Directors (BOD), providing a report outlining the activities of the position and presenting any known needs of the DBLP to the BOD.
The operations coordinator will exercise prudence when making purchases - any purchase exceeding $500 must have approval from the Chairman of the Board or from the full BOD.
Submit receipts and all invoices due to the ED on a weekly basis.
The operations coordinator assures all volunteers are aware of health guidelines and regulations.
The operations coordinator will endeavor to continuously learn about food service safety, additionally, there will be food handling classes to complete upon being hired.
The operations coordinator will visit the Concho Valley Regional Food Bank on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week.
In addition, the operations coordinator will do the necessary grocery shopping for the various volunteer teams who have requested certain items be available.
The operations coordinator will check walk-in cooler daily and discard leftovers as needed.
If volunteers are not available for the Sunday pick-up from Market Street the operations coordinator will make the pick-up and deliver the items to the soup kitchen.
The operations coordinator works with and oversees the efforts of the daily cleaning crew.
The operations coordinator will pick up donations from Chicken Express, Mrs.
Baird's, and Chick-Fil-A as necessary.
The Chick-Fil-A pick up requires a weekly log on and sign-off at harvestelog.
com.
This position will manage all needs of the van to include oil change maintenance, registration, and insurance renewal (working in conjunction with WTUMC Trustee).
Work with the volunteer team leaders to select items from pantry, freezers and refrigerator as needed for each team's chosen meal.
In addition, the operations coordinator will do the necessary grocery shopping for the various volunteer teams who have requested certain items be available.
Assist ED with proper thawing of food as requested by team leaders.
The operations coordinator will be responsible for arranging pick-up of pallets of water.
